Speaking of ruts…
I have been upgrading my professions lately, and it is not as easy as just going to the trainer and giving them some gold… not at all!
I became a student. Oh yes, back to school at the age where I had assumed I would have it all figured out. It has been interesting.
I have met some great people, and enjoyed learning again, more than I thought. I went to my first class (Photoshop for Beginners) with some trepidation. Would I be clever enough? Would I fall asleep in the middle of the day? Would I hold up the class asking endless questions? I entered the class room and set up my little laptop t take notes. I wasn’t even sure if I was supposed to have the software already installed on my laptop, and if I was supposed to supply my own computer! As most of you probably could have predicted, there were computers already in the classroom, all equipped with the expensive Adobe software we were learning about. But I still used my trusty macbook to take notes!
So, you might ask, what is the point? Well, I am taking the Web Design Certificate at NAIT. They offer part time courses, so I can work in the dates to my busy schedule, and add more as I make the money to afford them. Quite a few students in that first class were there because their work was paying for it. I was there to secure a location independent source of income! We shall see how this new knowledge fits into my arsenal of money making tools, but it sure has been fun to be learning again, and using my mind in ways I am not used to.
I hope to have a test website up eventually. The certificate ends in June, so hopefully by then I will know enough! Until then, Dan has been getting an electic selection of promo materials for The Kindred Teahouse.
